ENIAC

ENIAC (1945)



  

ENIAC means Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer. The first electronic computer used so much power that all the lights in the nearby town dimmed every time it was switched on. It weighed in at about 30 tonnes.


ENIAC was designed to calculate artillery firing tab for the United States Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory.

Bristlecone Pines

                                                       Bristlecone Pines



Here is some thing interesting about this pine tree. Bristlecone pines are the oldest tress on the planet. Growing slowly on cold,windswept mountainsides in western USA, they can live for thousands of years. The oldest specimen is known as Methuselah, and is about 4,800 years old. Record breaker.
This shows that our earth is full of amazing things.

     Big South American Cane toad was introduced to Australia in 1935 to eat beetles that were   destroying sugar cane crops. It didn't eat the beetles but managed to scoff lots of other animals,including native frogs, snakes and mammals, making some extinct.
