Why do people in Brazil Speak Protuguese?

                                 Why do people

                         in Brazil Speak

                           Portuguese?

Olá! In the 16th Century, European nations conquered overseas lands to create empires. Portugal ruled Brazil, which is why Portuguese is spoken there today. Spain ruled the western half of South America from Venezuela to Argentina, bringing the Spanish language. More than 100 Native American languages are still spoken in the continent.

 Football Crazy...

South American countries have won the FIFA World Cup - soccer's premier event - nine of the 18 times it has been contested since 1930:

Argentina : (1978, 1986)
Brazil: (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002)
Uruguay: (1930, 1960)
